ROWE SEES OPPORTUNITY AT MIDWEST NATIONALS
Rowe currently sits 6th in JEGS ProMod points
(5-2-2008) ST.Louis,MO– Hottinger Pro Mod driver Danny Rowe comes into Gateway International Raceway for the NHRA Midwest Nationals this weekend with a great deal of momentum. Rowe currently sits in 6th position in the JEGS ProMod Challenge points standings and managed the No. 2 qualifying spot with a 5.993 at 236.09 amongst one of the most incredible fields of Pro Modified cars in the history of the sport.
Rowe earned the first blown-alcohol win in NHRA Pro Modified at Gateway International Raceway back in 2004 and couldn’t be more excited to be back at his “favorite track.”
“We had a great weekend in Atlanta, and I couldn’t be happier to carry that momentum into the NHRA Midwest Nationals,” says Rowe. “We’ve won here before and I think we’ve got what it takes to do it again.
We showed that we have a car that can win races last weekend with a pair of 5.9-second passes, and it’s obvious that’s the kind of performance it’s going to take anymore. Between Kirk [Kuhns, teammate] and myself, with the tuning expertise of Jimmy Rector – I’m confident we can go the distance here in St. Louis.”
Coming off a stellar performance at Atlanta last weekend where Rowe earned his first five-second pass and made it to the semi-final round, the team of Rowe and Kuhns come into St. Louis determined to make a big splash – to earn points for the new JEGS ProMod Challenge Championship series.

“I think everyone on the team is looking forward to St. Louis,” Rowe said. “Like I said, the history we have here is a big part of that, but this Hottinger Group/Embee Performance team has really come together over the last few months.
Bringing on a second car and driver, complete with crew, was a bit of an undertaking and to already have established ourselves as players is incredible. Ultimately, we want to win these races, but we’re grounded enough to know that being consistent and going rounds will gain us ground in the points.”
“There are so many good cars out here that it’s getting harder and harder to win in the first place, let alone win all the time,” Rowe added. “With the field as fast as it is and the cars as close as they are, I just don’t see anyone running away with it in 2008 – a lot of responsibility is going to fall on us as drivers to get the job done on the starting line.”
