Lightest full size 16volt?
After reading 15 pages of banter about the "lightweight" lithium battery, lets say you wanted to play it safe and save some money. Of the popular brands out there, Powermaster, Turbostart, The Rock, and I think V Battery has fullsize ones, which is the lightest?

Re: Lightest full size 16volt?
I don't know if there actually the lighest full size, they advertise that they are. 32.5 lbs @ 16v. There full size weights 46 lbs. I've used there full size ones for about 5 years and they've given good service. I actually use two, but only one is in the car. The other one I plug in to start and then disconnect. See discription below.......
Hope that helps...........blessings...........Ron Clevenger.
Premium XS Power S1000 batteries from Powermaster.
These Powermaster XS Power AGM batteries are the lightest 16V racing batteries on the market. Independent test results have proved they out perform other 16V batteries weighing 10 - 20 lbs. more. The cutting edge lead acid battery technology produces more energy in a smaller space because each cell is compressed before insertion in the case, creating an efficient power producing package that is completely sealed with no need to ever add water. This combined with a height of an inch less than the competitors means these batteries will fit in places where space is a premium. By design, the entire line of XS Power AGM batteries has excellent deep cycling ability, an ultra-low internal resistance resulting in high cranking amps, and excellent vibration-resistance. These batteries are non-spillable and can be mounted in any position (except upside down). They are designed for the abuse of racing and they are the battery of choice for demanding racers and monster truck drivers that need top performance and reliability at 16V.

Re: Lightest full size 16volt?
You can to www.powermastermastermotorsports.com to see for yourself but I can sum it up.
Our S1000 weighs 32.5 lbs and is as strong or stronger than our competitors 42 - 56 lb batteries.
Our D1000 weighs 46lbs and is stronger than anything out there. We have independant testing to prove it. As a matter of fact we have independant testing to prove everything we claim.
ONE of our S1000 will work for a nitrous Pro Mod, Just ask Mike Castellana or Shannon Jenkins.
I know chargers have been a point of contention as well. Our Part number 1004 is bulletproof. We have sold over 1000 of those and only 1 has come back and been bad.
If you need anything else feel free to contact us at tech@powermastermotorsports.com or you can e-mail me at john@powermastermotorsports.com

Re: Lightest full size 16volt?
The V Battery 16V pro mod battery is 8.8 lbs and I have had one in my car all year. Have everything running pump, fan, delay box, fuel pump, with 2 kits (when needed) and one battery does the trick. This is the lightest battery you will find. I lost 53 lbs off of the car changing to it. I have also ran this guys batteries in the past years with no problems.
Yes Ronnie and Dudlee went at it.
I have the proper charger updated (may) and the battery in my car since january...had one problem and they warrantied it covering freight both ways to accomodate my immediate frustration. It is expensive with the charger...but if it suits your needs its worth it.
Rock on Ronnie lol not meant to argue...

I hear ya.
Everybody claims this and that.
I'll just let it go.
Being in the golf cart business i see the same thing.
One company (golf cart not battery) claims its 100% American,Yet its just put together in America. Every part is from China,But they lie like a rug,Flat on the floor about it.
Then when the Customer cant get any parts,They find out its was all BS.
I use and like the Rock 16v,I hated all 16v batts because they failed 24/7, untill my neighbor (They will remain un-named) told me all about the Rock 16v,
he had used the SAME battery for 2 years in several different cars.
Yes they weigh 42 lbs,But i have Never,Ever heard of one not cranking a car,Never.
I've sold about 60+ so far,not One complaint.
I make a whopping $20 of a battery,So i'm not in it for the money.
They are ALL American made, and the charger is the best i've ever used.
The Rock was the best kelp secert in Nascar and then dragracing.
We all know a PS racer will cut his balls off to save 2 lbs,not me I want Reliablity and that what you get with a Rock battery and for a good price too.

We.ve been testing in the lab, and wanted to share this report8.8 # battery at 75 degrees:
(another lab test confirms 50+ minutes of reserve time -
25 amp draw for 50 + minutes.
Battery test simulation for 12163247battery Pro Stock Drag car Lab test
- Fully* charged battery voltage / amperage
- Start at line (momentary) max 150 amp,
- All accessories on - Drive car to box, burn out, back up and stage at lights: < 50 amps (MAX!) *for*5 minutes max
- Make pass* 55 max*amps for 10*sec
- Ending voltage / amperage crucial: goal 16.0 volts
- Shut car off, fans &*waterpump still running; ign off,* 45 amps for 2-3 min,
-**w/*fans &*waterpump still running; ign off,*30 amps for 10 minutes weigh, tow back to pits
- w/*fans &*waterpump off, ign off,*0 amps for*10 minutes with battery charger Off
- shut fans & waterpump off and ign off,
- recharge battery to 100% (30 minutes & safely is the goal)

Most of you have a fair idea of you amperage load,
and this is MORE load than most of you have told us you run.
Also, We were testing a 10amp charger vs the regular 25 amp,
which explains the extended charge time.
We also have a 33# battery that is competitive.
Thank you all for your business, help, and interest -
More test reports and data available.
Yes - let's keep this thread postive and professional,
and we can all benefit.

Ronnie,
If I buy a Rock battery can I get cheese on my burger? Just kidding;
I have to finish repairs on my 632 before I can buy anything extra.

Re: Lightest full size 16volt?
If you let these 16V batteries set for 30 days with out charging them they will go bad my first Turbo Start did in 1999 but no problems since. Steve Schmidt told me to put one in my dragster and I picked up .04 next run I was sold from then on. Like the Rock the Turbostart is made in the USA Pa. to be exact and the Moroso 12/16V charger is great because you can use it for both 12 and 16V with no problems and we have sold a lot of the chargers with never a problem. We stock a ton of parts and hundreds of lines and until I see a proven product we don't bite. The China battery guys email and send reps by often and I never heard of most. Buy a brand name that will last for you..RD can I have a crum from a burger for mentioning the rock?

Re: Lightest full size 16volt?
TheV UltraLite batteries are rated for 10000 life cycles, AGM batteries
average around 2000. TheV UltraLite battery does NOT go dead,
or get ruined by sitting 30 days either.
Made and assembled in the USA by hand, with legal employees,
