The Wilson family finds some success.
With Tisha handling the tuning Tony has had the fastest ET’s of his life.
(8-19-08) Mooresville, NC Tony Wilson Jr. may be young in age just 21, but he has driving experience beyond his years. Tony Dale as he is known at the Mooresville Dragway has been driving on the track since he was a 6 year old kid. Together with this sister Tisha he graduated from Jr dragster to dragster to the car he has now, a 98 Monte Carlo. Racing is a family affair Tisha has taken the job as tuner, and has proven to be quite good at it. Tony Wilson Sr. helps with the maintenance at the track. Teresa Wilson affectionately known as Momma Wilson is the cook, making sure everyone in the vicinity of the Wilson pit has something to eat.
Tony has run some big dog races over the last couple years, but its now that he is enjoying racing more than ever. With Tisha handling the tuning Tony has had the fastest ET’s of his life. There is no sibling rivalry at the track. Tisha is perfectly happy to get dirty and work on the race car, and content to tune Tony to a win in the “Little Mad Dawg” consolation race last weekend at Mooresville Dragway. “A win is a win, even in the consolation race, at least we ran well and made some money.” Said Tony Dale. “My sister is doing a phenomenal job tuning and I couldn’t be happier that we had some success last weekend. To run fast is what we all strive for but to do it at what we consider our home track and to do it with the family, what more could I ask for.”
The Wilsons started the day with a qualifying run of 4.329@ 167, second round saw Tony Dale run 4.305, and the third round was a 4.31 the bump was a 4.27. “I feel really good about our runs today, we were right there barely missing the Top 8, Im just really proud of our crew.”added Tony Sr. “We ran our fastest ET ever in the 1st round of the consolation race. A 4.27 @166 mph, against my good friend Greg Patillo. It was a great race for the Wilson family.” Joining the Wilson as a crew member is Tony Dale’s best friend Wayne Campbell . It takes a great crew and dedication to run these cars, and I have the best.” Said Tony Dale. “We are thankful to have a lot of close friends that come out to the track, and help us out.”
