Re: Fastest 1/8 mile for roots blower?
John Lyman went 3.82 @192 in 2007 @ Orangeburg Drag Strip during a Q8 Outlaw race after a oil down in the lane he run in 2007. Don't know what his set up was, but would assume this is what you are talking about. He had wheels in the air until about 500'. I believe it was perfect conditions in April of 2007. I am sure his 330 was in the 3.50's. I can pull the time sheet!

Why does that have you wondering doug? The MPH? The gearing wasnt right. We ran 3.90 at Ennis. Here is the video of the 3.89. We were running a stock 18-71 roots also our short times were .956 and 2.59

Re: Fastest 1/8 mile for roots blower?
Fastest run talks about speed and quickest run is ET just so you know.
A 3.87 or any 3.8 with a 14/71 roots is impressive, especially when the OD is only 20%
Last weekend the 3.88 by commisso was stout

Re: Fastest 1/8 mile for roots blower?
So it looks like:
ET: 3.86
MPH: 196
On John Lynam's 3.82, I heard there was a lot of question on the timing system that day, So is anyone making it official?

wow thats a ton of speed. wouldnt have guessed that.
makes me think that a 18-71 outlaw roots blower could go 200 mph

That car was really building some steam after the 60' and especially after the the 330' , looks like Al was gettin after it in 2nd gear pretty hard ! .

Re: Fastest 1/8 mile for roots blower?
I agree, Al really gets after the car in 2nd. On all his cars.
But you really have to in order to run the car to the 330 and the 1/8th super hard. Obviously he knows how to do it. Al is the man IMO...
