Cody Barklage and his Lucas Oil Firebird will be in tough competition again this weekend for the ADRL Quarter-Max Memphis Drags II at Memphis Motorsports Park in Millington, TN.
(5-20-2009)Cody Barklage and his Lucas Oil Firebird will be in tough competition again this weekend for the ADRL Quarter-Max Memphis Drags II at Memphis Motorsports Park in Millington, TN.
“During our first couple of ADRL races and test sessions this season we’ve learned more about the new car,” said Barklage. “We just tested this past weekend and were able to run our team best 1/8 mile ET, which gives us a very positive outlook for this weekend. The brief break from ADRL competition really allowed us to further our team development and move towards the goals we have set for the season.”
The short break in competition gave the team more chance to apply their tune-up’s by way of another team.
“We also spent a few days helping Tom Johanns, of Pit Mat USA, get his Pro Mod lined out,” added Barkalge. “We consulted with his team in Kansas City a few weeks ago, and helped them make some headway with their car. Just last week, they went to their first race of the season and were able to start from the No. 2 qualifying spot.”
“It’s been a long, tough, road in getting things back together and get back to running well,” commented Barklage. “With the positive moves we’ve recently had, the team and I are anxious to be back on the track this weekend. We’ve done well in various competition settings at Memphis in the past, so of course we are going out with the highest hopes.”
