Re: 1/8 mile & 1/4 mile tune ups

AS far as blower cars go it would depend on how much you are pushing it and if the car runs both NHRA/IHRA and Outlaw or just Outlaw. The 1/4 mile runs result in things getting a lot hotter so the tuneup may have to be adjusted to stop from destroyng the motor in the last half. Normally in a 1/8 mile run you can push it harder for the shorter duration. For a dedicated 1/8 mile Outlaw blower one may run a different rear gear and a different 1st gear. Also the IHRA/NHRA legal blower cars have to run a lower overdrive on the blowers. 1/8 mile cars can run any combination so that again is a different tuneup.

On nitrous motors we would just change the rear gears if going to run a 1/8 mile or a 1/4 mile. Most of the time we didn't even do that.
