1320 TV adds three new elements to website
(05-20-2006) SEATTLE, WA - In an effort to bring drag-racing fans more than just insightful race coverage, 1320 TV (
www.1320tv.com) has added three new elements.
"Featured Videos" offers a look at what teams and individual drivers do between races. Among the initial video clips are visits with Pro Mod veterans Annette Summer and Quain Stott, as well as a peek at the shop where some of the industry's most exotic paint jobs originate. The 1320 TV network will take you inside Doug Herbert's Lincolnton, North Carolina, shop and straight to a front-row seat for the Top Fuel driver's annual wacky open house. One of the initial short clips previews 1320 TV's upcoming tour of Australia's drag racing scene.
"We know that fans want more than just the basic videos from each race. We love bringing our viewers the Quarter-Mile Confessions talk shows and candid videos from the drivers at NHRA, IHRA, ADRL, and NSCA events. But during the week, we want to present something fresh to watch," Susan Wade, 1320 TV owner, said.
The newly established network also has introduced the first of several regularly scheduled programs. "Crossovers" features drivers and key drag-racing personalities in their 9-to-5 jobs or pursuing unlikely hobbies. The premier episode is a two-part spotlight on Top Fuel driver Mitch King at work, managing his old-fashioned ice-cream parlour and candy factory in Galveston, Texas, and working in his race shop.
"Crossovers gives fans a chance to see their favorite drivers and the sport's celebrities in a new light," Wade said.
Stay up to date with what's new on 1320 TV by reading the "Straight Talk" feature in the far-right column.
This weekend's 1320 TV schedule features a trifecta -- the NHRA's Pontiac Performance Nationals near Columbus, Ohio, the ADRL's O'Reilly Memphis Drags, and the NSCA's Jim Sellers Memorial at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. Next week, 1320 TV will cover the action in the NHRA pits at Topeka.
After that, 1320 TV cameras will be at the IHRA's June 2-4 MOPAR Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol. The network will have international coverage from Australia, as well as from Chicago (NHRA) and Huntsville, Alabama (ADRL).
"Our ambitious schedule keeps rolling, and judging from the fans' reactions, they love the straight scoop from the drivers," Wade said.
We welcome our newest sponsors, StriVectin-SD and The Errand Angels.
StriVectin-SD, the "Better Than Botox" anti-aging cream, sponsors the Kalitta Motorsports-owned Top Fuel Dragster that "Aussie" Dave Grubnic drives in NHRA competition. Drag-racing legend Shirley Muldowney is spokeswoman for the StriVectin sponsorship group. In addition, 1320 TV's "Quarter-Mile Confessions," a 15-30-minute talk show, originates from the StriVectin hospitality area of the Kalitta Motorsports pit each racing day. It is posted by 10 p.m. (Eastern Time) each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the racing weekend, followed by winners circle interviews.
