Rod Houck hammers the Pro Mod competition at "The Farm"
(8-7-2005) MOCKSVILLE, NC – One of the most exhilarating and action packed Quick 8 Racers Association Pro Mod events took place on Saturday, August 6th at the premier Farmington Motorsports Park drag racing facility. A stout turnout of sixteen amazing nitrous backed Pro Modified Doorslammers attended with great performances and head to head 1/8th mile battles all afternoon and evening long.
The very first qualifying session was proof alone that this race was going to be a very quick and fast field with mostly all members running in the low 4.10's right of the trailer in the heat of the day! Godwin and Houck alike shared the quickest times in the first outing blistering 4.10 for both Corvettes!
In the second session Godwin lowered his 4.10 to a 4.09 with "Trickie" Rickie Smith knocking on the back door with yet another 4.10!
On the final qualifying shot, Rod Houck, the new driver to the series piloting one of the two Don Plemmon's cars, "Rocked The Clocks" with a crowd cheering, top end sideways handling 4.07 to top the order! Tutterow also jumped right on up with a great 4.08!

Sonny Tindal grabbed a huge win in first round taking out the higher qualified brand new Bickel built 'Vette piloted by Rickie Smith. Rickie came back on a shakedown later on and slammed out a great 4.06 which would stand as the quickest pass all night long!
The final came down between Houck and Tutterow. It was one outstanding final round with "Super Rod" Houck taking the win light for his first time ever in the Plemmon's owned Corvette clocking a 4.07 to the loosing 4.10 posted by Todd!
"The voice of the Quick 8's", Darren McClarity (Big Mo D), as always kept the entire packed house crowd on their feet and up to date from the control tower all evening long from the announcer seat! This event made a statement for sure! These guys have the baddest and quickest Nitrous based Pro Modified 1/8th mile traveling series in the country! It took a 4.140 just to get in the show, with a 4.146 sitting on the outside looking in!!
